Day 6

My cool gecko friend that I found 2 nights ago.

Hey everybody! We started orientation yesterday. Classes start on Monday. Very exciting.

Also, my roommate has arrived! He is a really nice guy from Texas. He has a doctorate in immunology so he is already Dr. Knight haha.

We went out to Grand Anse on the school bus and did some shopping at IGA. I also was able to finally buy a power converter. I've been having to hike up the hill to the cool lookout place to charge my stuff, but this is the result of that endeavor.

I've counted 24 mosquito bites just on my right leg haha (also I'm getting a sweet flip flop tan)

Here is the Patrick F. Adams Lecture Hall at the beginning of orientation

Here is a local dance being taught to 4 students. The instructor was my tour guide for campus. She is the sweetest/funniest lady. Doesn't that look fun?!

You can watch the video here. The guy singing and playing the drums was also very good!

After all of the orientation meetings my roommate and I went to the Grand Anse area to find some local food. We found a local BBQ and bought a some local beer and pig tails. The beer was actually pretty decent tasting. The brand was Stag. The pig tails were fantastic! We then walked to another BBQ place and ordered some wraps. Very delicious.

Where we got the wraps.

Today was just more orientation. After orientation we went to a local restaurant called Cloud 9. It was really good and not too expensive.

Night Everybody!
